TRE stands for Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises. It is an accesible form of bodywork and a great way to deepen the relationship with your body. In a personal trajectory of 3 to 6 sessions, we will look at how you can get more in touch with your nervous system, release stored tension and trauma and find more peace of mind and body. Focussing on finding a way to integrate TRE into your life in a way that works for you.

What is TRE?

" TRE® – tension release for everybody and every body."

Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises (or TRE®) is a simple yet innovative series of exercises that help the body release deep muscular patterns of stress, tension and trauma. TRE safely activates the natural reflex mechanism of shaking or vibrating that releases muscular tension and calms down your nervous system. When this muscular shaking/vibrating mechanism is activated in a safe and controlled environment, the body is encouraged to return back to a state of balance. 

  • TRE is a body based (somatic) process. When done properly, through a Certified TRE® Provider, it can allow you to discharge tension from your body. Without requiring you to “revisit the story”. (ie: verbally describing or talking about the stressful or traumatic experience(s))
  • TRE is designed to be a self-help tool that once learned, can be used as needed, throughout your life, thereby continuously supporting and promoting personal health and sense of wholeness.
  • TRE can cross culture and language barriers because it is based on natural physiological responses shared by all human beings.
  • TRE promotes cohesiveness and openness between participants and can be a helpful tool for conflict resolution. (ie: interpersonal, corporate and political communication)

About Ummi

Ummi graduated as a professional dancer. During her education she fell in love with the endless depth of movement and it’s powerful potential to bring us new insights and make us feel more connected from inside out. She does ongoing research into the topic of Embodied Wisdom, combining the fields of cognitive science, neurosciences and philosophy with her expertise in movement and dance. 

Through TRE® she was introduced to the fascinating world of our autonomic nervous system. This has brought many insights, empowerment, depth and understanding, both in her personal life and into her work. As a certified TRE® provider, she is passionate to create space for meaningful changes and new possibilities through building trust and safety in your body.
